Today’s Advice: Help to clean up a river.

Huka falls

Local nature conservation organisation regularly organise river cleanup operations. These involve removing the waste that pollutes a watercourse and clearing riverbanks of the detritus of human life. Excessively dense vegetation creates a closed habitat that does not favour aquatic life. This maintenance is beneficial even if the water is not polluted, because it preserves the ecosystem and its biodiversity.
