Daily Advice: If you don’t like tap water, use a filter.

Deteriorating water infrastructures, pollution, and outdated treatment technologies have combined to degrade the quality of water being delivered to Americans. Sources of drinking water are continually degraded by development and pollution. For the moment, drinking water treatment facilities are adequate to ensure that our water is fit to drink-but how long will this be the case?.

To reduce the chlorine taste in water, you can install a filter on the tap, or add a few drops of lemon juice to your water pitcher. Or, simpler still, place the pitcher in the refrigerator for a few hours: Chlorine is volatile and will evaporate.
